"Warwickshire College has won a Beacon award for its distance learning "Health and Safety with Horses" course which provides a high-tech and easy to use interactive training program for workers in the equine industry".

Calls for greater use of body protectors

"BETA's ongoing efforts to improve safety for riders include a new study of the current use of body protectors and a safety course for consumers"

Defra and the British Horse Industry Confederation have published a report on the first ever research into the horse industry as a whole which provides essential baseline information needed to assist the equestrian industry to determine where it would like to be in 10 years time and how the Government can help it get there.  Read the Summary Report on this site.

Compensation culture is a 'myth'
But there may well be a claims seeking culture, all the same!
Britain's compensation culture may be a "myth", but a damaging "compensation-seeking-culture" could end up costing the UK dearly, the Government's red-tape tsar said today.
